Educational Philosophy:
The process of learning is stimulating, interesting, and exciting. I strive to provide an environment for all of my students in which they too can potentially experience this in the same way that I do. I believe in the development of the following fundamental skills: critical thinking, creativity, oral communication, and written communication. Stemming from my curious nature is a thirst for knowledge that has encouraged me to not limit the stage at which learning takes place. Therefore, I try to help my students see that learning can happen anywhere and at any time. I love showing students how to pursue, value, and hold on to knowledge and wisdom while also enjoying the process of obtaining it. I believe that students should strive to construct their own knowledge through understanding, exploration, and reasoning rather than the creation of shortcuts or the memorization of procedures and rules. Without a growth mindset, we cannot deepen our conceptual understanding within subjects such as mathematics and science nor can we strengthen our problem solving skills in a relevant or practical fashion. It is always my hope that my passion towards education and consistent care for my students will help them enjoy learning and further pursue it in their future.
